An Oasis, As In —
A Residency embedded in Vast Landscapes
A Sanctuary for the Senses
An Ode to the Creative Process
23 – 30 .11 2025
Le Jardin de Yuda, Morocco
One Week.
An Unfolding Creative Process.
Through Movement, Landscape and Weaving
OASIS is a place where the unexpected happens— where water gathers in the heart of the desert, nourishing life underneath, a hidden well. It is a threshold. It offers refuge and replenishment: a living pause, a gathering of creative potential in the midst of vast horizons. It carries the symbolism of resilience, arrival, and renewal—an invitation to linger, to drink deeply, and to remember that even in the most arid landscapes, life insists on flourishing.
OASIS is a creative residency experience
nestled in the sanctuary of
Le Jardin de Yuda
IN THE SPIRIT OF OASIS; A METAPHOR FOR THE MOMENTS IN THE CREATIVE PROCESS WHEN FLOW; NOURISHMENT; AND CLARITY RETURNS AFTER A STRETCH OF DRYNESS OR WANDERING, BEING LOST OR DRAINED. JUST AS THE DESERT HOLDS BOTH VAST SILENCE AND HIDDEN PROMISE OF WATER; THE ARTISTIC JOURNEY CARRIES LONG PERIODS OF SEARCHING; QUESTIONING OR DEPLETION; AND THEN A SUDDEN SPRING OF RENEWAL:
IN THIS SENSE; THIS IMMERSION BECOMES AN OASIS, A FERTILE POCKET OF TIME AND SPACE WHERE WHAT FELT BARREN IS PART OF A WIDER; INTELLIGENT PROCESS. IT IS WHERE THE ARTIST DRINKS DEEPLY FROM STILLNESS; MOVEMENT; COMPANIONSHIP; AND LANDSCAPE ; TO RE/TURN TO CREATIVITY, NOT AS A LINEAR PATH BUT PART OF AN INTELLIGENT CYCLE;
To nourish the senses.
A slow, intentional and creative space. Tending to the sacred. Opening the senses. To receive, to discover and to create.
This week is an invitation to enter an artistic process with movement practice at its heart. Where body, land, and thread become guides. We will attune to the landscapes around us, allowing its textures, rhythms, and stories to shape how we move, listen, and create. Through daily practices of movement, collaborative creative inquires, and communal weaving, we explore how these elements connect us—to ourselves, to each other, and the creative process as a whole.
Rather than seeking a finished product, we enter the week as a journey: a weaving of processes and encounters. The core of this is time itself, stretched across seven days of attentive practice, sensual nourishment and creative discovery.
This space welcomes artists, movers, and anyone curious about creative process as a living art. No previous experience is necessary—only a desire and willingness to engage with body, landscape, and the weaving of relation.
IMMERSED IN VAST LANDSCAPES ; The residency unfolds in the village of Zaouit Sidi Ahmed, amidst the expansive terrains of the High Atlas foothills. This region is characterized by its semi-desert ecosystems — To be here is to be shaped by the terrain: the wind moving through, the rhythm of sun and shadow across the rocks, the night sky luminous with stars. It’s to cultivate a dialogue with the elements, allowing the land to awaken our own creative wilderness by honing and sharpening our presence.
SANCTUARY FOR THE SENSES; Oasis is held at Le Jardin de Yuda, a guesthouse where the senses are welcomed back into fullness. The scents of herbs, the taste of handmade meals, the texture of handwoven fabrics —all to nourish the creative process. This sanctuary honors the artist not only as a maker of works but as a whole being whose senses, rhythms, and inner life require care, nourishment, and deep listening.
ODE TO THE CREATIVE PROCESS; Here creativity is not something to be chased or extracted but a living process to be honored. The residency becomes a ritual space where process is valued as much as outcome, where experimentation, play and vulnerability are cultivated. Through balanced time in solitude and community, this immersion invites to create new pathways through the unknown, to follow the the threads of inspiration that emerge from the land and from within — whether in stillness, conversation, or creation—honoring the mystery of how art is born.
—— EXPECT ——
Weaving as Practice: honoring local traditions of Berber carpet weaving, learning directly form the women in the village, as a way to reflect on how creativity interlaces threads of body, landscape, and imagination.
Movement as Thread: daily movement practice outdoors, exploring the body as a creative field, sensation, rhythm, flow. Movement to cultivate presence, opening the senses to perceive more fully: the texture of breath, the sound of footsteps, the subtle impulses that arise before form. Movement to explore new shapes of our physicality, and to connect relationally to each other and choreographically to place and landscape.
Collaboration as Fabric: cultivating shared spaces where individual processes and visions merge with others, creating and exchanging through a field of synergy and possibilities. Communal practice as building reciprocal relationships with place, people, and culture. From this, the creative process is not something to force, but something to listen for.
& most of all spaciousness to be in your own exploration and practice. For some this might look like working on a specific project or creative endeavor, for others this might be in the simplicity of giving space to what wants to emerge.
—— OUR PROGRAMM —
At OASIS, we invite participants to step away from the constant stimulation of digital devices and immerse themselves fully in the present moment to experience the creative process without the distractions of modern life. While you are welcome to bring your devices for essential communication, we will encourage a limited contact to technology, allowing space for revitalization, focus and intimacy—with yourself, your creative practice, and everyone around you.
Our schedule might adapt in relationship to process and participants;
it might include additional elements according to our shared intentions or individual needs.
Everyday there will be enough space for you to be in your own rhythm and practice.

Le Jardin de Yuda will be our haven during our time together. The guesthouse is built using traditional techniques of Southeast Morocco, featuring earth walls and roofs supported by bamboo and wooden beams. Every corner of the space exudes a sanctuary-like atmosphere, with natural materials, warm textures, and a harmonious feeling. The garden invites to be present with fragrant plants and tranquil nooks, where the senses can unwind and imagination can roam.
The accommodation will be in shared rooms, each thoughtfully arranged with two comfortable single beds and a private bathroom. The guesthouse itself has a shared living room centered around a cozy fireplace—an inviting place to gather, share stories, or simply rest in warmth after a day of practice.
A dedicated quiet room designed for meditation, or other gentle practice, allowing participants to retreat into stillness whenever needed.
There is a dedicated weaving room where we will have our communal weaving practice and it will remain accessible at all times for individual practice.
Outside, spacious terraces and open areas extend into the garden, offering space for movement, and other outdoor practices. -
Late November in this region is generally mild and dry— daytime remains sunny, 18 °C – 21 °C and evenings and nights become colder 7 °C – 9 °C. That’s when the fireplace in the living room will be a cozy place to gather.
-
We recommend arriving at least a few days before the immersion begins and allowing some time after it ends. This extra space gives you the opportunity to gently acclimate to the environment, and integrate your experiences, so that the immersion can be absorbed deeply and reflected upon with ease.
There is also the possibilty of extending your stay if you wish. Be in touch for this as there’s limited availability.
